Amazon just announced their Prime Day dates ahead of the event. We can expect four days of deals starting from July 8th through the 11th. This is a shift from their usual two day event in July. In the 11 years I have covered Prime Day, Amazon has been offering some of the best Apple discounts on select items outside of Black Friday and Cyber Monday events. Definitely check the Apple page on July 8th through 11th to see what Amazon has discounted. If you never had an Amazon Prime subscription in the past, you can actually get a 30-day free trial that will run through the Prime event. After your trial is over, you will renew at the $139/year price unless you cancel before the 30 days to avoid the charge.
The latest generation of the Apple AirPods Pro 2 wireless earbuds has dropped down to the 2025 lowest price of $169, which is 32% less than buying at the Apple Store. These highly rated and reviewed earbuds wont PCMag’s Editors’ Choice award with a 4.5/5 “Outstanding” score with the editor noting “The AirPods Pro 2 are the top true wireless earphones for Apple users thanks to their exceptional noise cancellation, excellent sound quality, and advanced audio features”. Alternatively, you can grab the more budget friendly Apple AirPods 4 wireless earbuds for $99, which is $30 less than getting it at the Apple store (PCMag rated 4/5). This is a far better value than getting the $148.99 AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation since it has better active noise cancellation thanks to the physical sound isolation with the silicone ear tips on the Pro model and better sound quality technology than the AirPods 4. The AirPods Pro also offers better water resistance, hearing health features using iOS 18, touch controls, and adaptive transparency technology.
If you’re in the market for a tablet, you can not go wrong with the latest generation 2025 Apple iPad 11 as it offers a good balance between price and functionality. You can save $50 on PCMag Editors’ Choice award winning tablet starting from $299. Need more performance? Save $100 on both 2025 iPad Air 11-inch and 13-inch models (PCMag Editors’ Choice) are great choices at a higher price point that features the laptop level M3 chip processor. Alternatively , you can grab the more budget friendly Apple Watch SE smart watches starting from $169. The Apple Watch SE was given a 4/5 “Excellent” rating from PCMag.

It really varies since we do see Apple deals pop up during major holidays like Memorial Day, Black Friday, Prime Day and even smaller events like Valentine’s day from major retailers. From our experience, Amazon generally has the most discounts throughout the year depending on what Apple product you are looking for.
Apple.com does offer some discounts in the year; they host a back to school sale for students and facility late summer through early fall. We also have seen Apple have Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals in the past where you get a bonus gift card with select products.
Most consumer focused Apple products do go on sale often throughout the year. There are some exceptions since we do not see many discounts on more of the niche Apple products like the Mac Studio, Apple Vision, HomePod. We often see discounts at Amazon, Best Buy, or Costco throughout the year especially major holidays. If you see a lower price at Best Buy or Costco, Amazon usually prices matches the same product.Apple.com does offer discounts a few times a year. Throughout the year, there are education discounts for students, families, and faculty with qualifying email and verification. You can save a few hundred dollars on select products. Their Back to School education sale usually offers the same discount but may include an additional gift card on top the purchase. You can find similar discounts for select government employees, businesses & employees, and for military and veterans with qualifying email.
Depending on your definition of discount, the latest iPhones generally are discounted if you go through a carrier like AT&T or Verizon where you may have to trade-in a phone and sign up for a monthly payment plan. These are usually carrier locked, meaning if you get your phone from Verizon, you may have to unlock the phone to use it with a different carrier. You will have to look at the terms and conditions when buying the iPhone to see if the phone is carrier locked and when you can get the phone unlocked.There are many options to get refurbished or used condition older iPhones. Apple certified refurbished phones direct from Apple’s Certified Refurbished is one of the best places if you want peace of mind since they are fully tested, parts replaced with genuine Apple parts, include a new battery, outer shell and has 1 year Apple warranty. Prices will generally be a lot higher compared to other refurbishers but in our opinion this is probably the closest you can get to getting it brand new.Companies like eBay, Amazon, Woot!, and OWC offer great pricing on refurbished and used iPhones and generally come with a in-house or 3rd party warranty or guarantee with their iPhones. You’ll have to note the condition of the phone listed as pricing is adjusted based on the wear and tear on the phone. The closer an iPhone is to new condition, the higher the price will be whereas a scuffed display with wear on the casing would be much cheaper in comparison.
You can actually use the AirPods Pro wireless earbuds on an Android Phone or Tablet through Bluetooth but you can not access all the features to get the full experience. You lose out on features like having tuned noise cancellation and spatial audio, you can not update the AirPods firmware, and other functions without a compatible Apple device. It is probably better to get wireless earbuds to match your brand’s phone or get the Sony XM5 series wireless earbuds.
